Floating down from the heavens with the aid, this time, of a kite, the teaser trailer for Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns has officially landed and is every bit as magical as you were hoping.
Given that Mary Poppins was itself a winner of FIVE Oscars back in 1965, it was only fitting that the fifty-three-years-later sequel should launch its teaser during last night’s Academy Awards Ceremony.
From Chicago and Into the Woods director Rob Marshall, Mary Poppins Returns sees Emily Blunt take on the titular role made famous by Julie Andrews in the original film, itself a loose adaptation of stories by P. L. Travers.
Set in 1930s London, Jane (Emily Mortimer) and Michael (Ben Whishaw) Banks have grown-up since we last saw them. Michael still lives in the house on Cherry Tree Lane, now with his three children: Annabel, John, and George (Pixie Davies, Nathaneal Saleh and Joel Dawson), along with housekeeper: Ellen (Julie Walters).
When tragedy hits the family, Mary Poppins makes a comeback in an adventure with street lamplighter Jack (Lin-Manuel Miranda), and her cousin Topsy Turvy-Poppins (Meryl Streep).
Also appearing in the film are: Colin Firth, Angela Lansbury and Dick Van Dyke.

So looking forward to this
