Just days after Disney reawakened your inner child with the new Mary Poppins Returns trailer, they’ve released a glimpse of Christopher Robin…and it’s a little odd.
No one knows how to hit you with nostalgia like Disney and, sure enough, the new trailer for Christopher Robin does just that, bringing Winnie-the-Pooh to screens as you’ve never seen him before.
Directed by Finding Neverland‘s Marc Foster, the film will see Christopher’s childhood friends – Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore, Rabbit, Kanga and Owl – reappear in his life as things take a turn for the worse. Can they reignite his lost imagination?
Last year’s Goodbye Christopher Robin may have been grounded in reality – and the story of how A. A. Milne created his beloved stories off the back of his son – but Christopher Robin sees us back in the realm of imagination.
Ewen McGregor stars as Christopher and is joined in the film by Hayley Atwell, Mark Gattis and newcomer Bronte Carmichael, whilst veteran voice artist Jim Cummings once again provides the oh-so-familar voice of Pooh bear himself.
You’ll be thankful that the voice is familiar because the bear himself – more teddy than bear – may take some time to get used to.
Alongside Cummings, Chris O’Dowd, Nick Mohammed, Brad Garrett, Peter Capaldi, Sophie Okonendo and Toby Jones voice Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Rabbit, Kanga and Owl.
