FIRST LOOK | Disney’s new Dumbo trailer is completely adorable

We’ve been thrilled in the Jungle and charmed by Beauty, now Disney present a live action Dumbo. Needless to say, the new trailer is very cute.

Due for release next spring, Disney’s new Dumbo comes from Tim Burton – which here means: it’s a shade darker than the original 1941 film and stars the director’s current muse Eva Green.

Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito also star in the film, which is to have a human-centric orientation and no talking animals.

Farrell plays former circus star Holt Farrier whose wartime experience has left him scarred. When ringmaster Max Medici (DeVito) hires Holt to take care of a newborn elephant with oversized ears, he and his family soon discover that there’s more to this calf than meets the eye.

The first look trailer, released by Disney today, features a haunting rendition of the Oscar nominated song ‘Baby Mine’ – sung originally by Betty Noyes – not dissimilar to the Benjamin Wallfisch and Disa song that accompanied the trailer for Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children in 2016.

Dumbo will hit cinemas on 29 March 2019.

  1. I showed this trailer to my nephew and since then he has been insisting on watching it on repeat mode. I cannot blame him though. I guess he is too young to understand the message the film wants to send to viewers.
