The first trailer has been released for Dexter Fletcher’s upcoming Rocketman film and it boasts an out of this world Taron Egerton.
Billed as an epic musical fantasy, rather than conventional biopic, the film tells the uncensored human story of Sir Elton John’s breakthrough years.
Rocketman stars Egerton as a vocally uncanny Sir Elton, along with Jamie Bell as his lyricist Bernie Taupin, Bodyguard’s Richard Madden, as manager and partner John Reid, and Bryce Dallas Howard as his mother – despite being only eight years older than Egerton.
This isn’t the Welsh actor’s first brush with the Tiny Dancer and Your Song singer, of course. Sir Elton appeared in Kingsman: The Golden Circle last year, whilst Egerton belted out his I’m Still Standing in 2016 animation Sing.
Sir Elton, for good measure, has also had his fair share of film involvement, with Gnomeo and Juliet recently employing his discography for its soundtrack.
Rocketman is also a Rocket Pictures production: the film company that is run by the singer and his husband David Furnish
