Film has been underway on Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp for just over a month now, so fans of the Super-Studio’s output are long overdue a sneak peak.
Ant-Man proved to be a moderate success on release back in 2015, following a production blighted by stories of Edgar Wright’s unhappy relationship with the blockbuster.
The film saw Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym mentor Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) in taking up the mantle of ‘Ant-Man’ – a hero whose suit allows him to shrink in size, whilst growing in strength.
A mid-credits sting from the film teased a future for the franchise within Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, as Pym bequeathed another suit – that of ‘The Wasp’ – to his daughter Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lily).
The upcoming sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, is directed a returning Peyton Reed and will see Hope’s Wasp join forces with Scott’s Ant-Man on an all new and dangerous mission.
With filming scheduled to continue through to November, Lily yesterday tweeted an exclusive sneak peak into the upcoming film, coinciding with what would have been the 100th Birthday of Ant-Man’s original co-creator: Jack Kirby.
This follows the earlier release of a behind-the-scenes teaser:
The film is due for release on July 6 2018.
